From Actor To Producer

From Actor to Producer……… The journey

Actor turned producer, Sue Scott Davison chats about her experience and what drove her to become a producer.  She tackles the divide between the performer and the producer, explodes some money making myths and discusses how the actor can make the leap without losing their principles and their house!

Talk will be followed by a Q&A

Following over 25 years as an actress, Sue established Lifeblood Theatre and its sister company Scott Davison Productions with the aim of producing high quality commissioned and established texts for both commercial and subsidised theatre. She was awarded a Stage One New Producer’s Bursary in 2004 in support of her work with Lifeblood Theatre, and a Meridian Theatre Interact Award for the development and production of Glyn Maxwell’s Liberty, which she co-produced with Shakespeare’s Globe in 2008, followed by a national tour. Other productions include: The Lifeblood (2004/5), Two Way Mirror (2006) and Future Me (2007/9). Sue is currently co-producing the critically acclaimed The Railway Children which returns to Waterloo this summer following its success in 2010, as well as a production in Toronto from May 2011. Lifeblood Theatre is currently in production with After Troy, its third collaboration with award winning poet , Glyn Maxwell.
